To say Amou Haji lives an eccentric life would be a massive understatement.
After a series of unfortunate events, Amou Haji, 80, decided to live a life of isolation in Southern Iran. He hasn’t bathed in sixty years, being convinced that “cleanliness brings him illness”.
In addition to his bizarre way of life, Haji says that his favorite food is rotten porcupine and he smokes a pipe filled with animal feces instead of tobacco.
While it may look different by modern, Western standards, Haji claims that he is happier than many of those who live ordinary, common, consumer-driven lives.
Actually, he says its his lack of possessions and attachments that make him happy.
The last known record of longest time going without bathing belonged to a 66-year-old Indian man, Kailash Singh, who has not been washed for over 38 years.
