Bruce Campbell, an innovative engineer, rejected the standards of traditional housing and decided to convert an airplane into his home. He purchased a retired Boeing 727, complete with wings and landing gear, for about $220,000 and moved it to a suburban wooded area outside Portland, Oregon. After years of flying the large aircraft is now the permanent residence with electricity, a shower and kitchen. For Bruce Campbell, it is home.
